Samantha Pinzl is a Certified Health Education Specialist who supports the work of the Center for Health and Safety Culture. Samantha earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master of Public Health from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. Samantha has a passion for local community prevention work. Samantha has over five years of experience working for a county health department as a Public Health Educator where she facilitated various community coalitions working to prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and obesity. She also has experience in tobacco prevention and control, working with coalition partners to develop e-cigarette policy and conduct retailer compliance checks. Samantha has led community efforts to increase walkability through crosswalk murals, wayfinding signage, Open Street events, and conducting walk audits of area streets. She has also assisted county farmers markets with obtaining debit/EBT access for customers. She assisted with the creation of the first electronic Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) for that county.

Samantha was born and raised in Wisconsin, but now works remotely from her home in New Jersey.  Her husband is on active duty in the United States Navy. She enjoys hiking and exploring the east coast with her husband and their three young children.
