The San Juan Community Partnership (San Juan County, NM) worked with the Center over several years to address a variety of substance abuse issues and risky behaviors among youth in the Four Corners area using the Positive Community Norms framework. Issues included underage drinking, tobacco use, methamphetamine use, drinking and driving, and seat belt usage.  The Partnership conducted regular surveys of students in several schools and used these data to create media campaigns to correct normative misperceptions. Over time, the Partnership documented reductions in the targeted risky behaviors. They also sought to increase the capacity of the region in the Positive Community Norms framework by hosting trainings and meetings with a wide range of partners and stakeholders that addressed a variety of health and safety issues.
