Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance launches innovative television commercials to promote lead safety.

In honor of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, October 20-27, the Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance has teamed up with the UNL Extension Office and the
MOST of Us® organization from Montana to launch a television commercial campaign which promotes Omaha’s continued commitment to keeping our kids safe from lead.

“Based on past surveys conducted by organizations in Omaha, communities have said that they prefer to learn about lead poisoning through television media, says Kara Eastman, Executive Director of Omaha Healthy Kids Alliance. “These commercials, while simple in their approach, actually use a unique science-based model and a community alliance strategy to educate people about lead”.

The English and Spanish commercials will begin to air on Friday and will run for three months.
