Senior Research Principal
Dr. Bridget Hanson is a Senior Research Principal at the Center for Health and Safety Culture. Dr. Hanson holds a PhD in Experimental Psychology, with an emphasis in social psychology, from the University of North Dakota. Her primary research interests are in social cognitions and how they relate to health and wellbeing. Dr. Hanson joined the Center in June 2021 and contributes to qualitative and quantitative research and evaluation as well as proposal development.
Before joining the Center, Dr. Hanson was research faculty at the University of Alaska Anchorage for more than ten years. She has led research and evaluation on numerous public health topics including substance misuse prevention, harm reduction, and suicide prevention and has disseminated findings through numerous national conference presentations and journal articles. Dr. Hanson also has experience teaching psychology and program evaluation courses at the undergraduate and graduate level and enjoys mentoring students.
Bridget works remotely from her home in Alaska where she lives with her husband and their dog. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, fishing, and cooking.
