My husband Dan and I moved to Cody, Wyoming in 1984, which is where we continue to ‘hang our hat’. Dan and I live 5 miles out of town on 17 acres. We’ve enjoyed horses, mules, cows, cats, dogs, geese, ducks, and a goat. Currently, the only past time we have that doesn’t have a key is one dog! Since retiring, we’ve traveled the perimeter of the US in our motorhome. We’ve spent some time playing in the dirt and sand with our side-by-side and enjoyed fishing in Dan’s boat.
As a Wyoming native, I started school in a one-room schoolhouse 26 miles South of Gillette. I was 4 years old and my mother was the teacher! I attended elementary school in Gillette. My parents moved to Riverton and I graduated as a Wolverine. My dad gave me the choice of going to college any place I wanted as long as it was in the state of Wyoming. I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a Bachelors and a Masters in Education. I’ve taught grades 5, 3, 2, and kindergarten (total of 12 years in the classroom). I was in administration for 26 years as the Jr High Assistant Principal (4 yrs), Elementary Principal (12 yrs), and Assistant Superintendent (10 yrs). There wasn’t a position I had ‘in school’ that I didn’t love!
